Privacy Policy

ONZKO LIMITED · Last updated 20 September 2026

This policy explains how ONZKO Limited (NZBN 9429053723680) handles personal information when you use onzko.com, contact us, request a quote or arrange a consultation. ONZKO is the New Zealand agency collecting and holding this information. This notice does not waive your privacy rights or provide blanket consent for unrelated uses.

1. The corporate website and the Shop

onzko.com presents our solutions, expertise and enquiry pathways. Product browsing, specifications, pricing and ordering are directed to shop.onzko.com. Cart, checkout and customer-account functions are not offered on this corporate website. When using the Shop, read the privacy and transaction information displayed there; this page does not change an existing order or agreement.

2. Information you provide

We collect the details you choose to provide through an enquiry, form, email, phone call or appointment request. Depending on your request, these can include your name, business, email, phone number, customer type, solution interests, project or customer address, site access information, scope, timing, budget, quantities, plans, photographs and correspondence. For an appointment at your property, we need the address and relevant access details.

Please provide only information relevant to your request. Do not submit passwords, payment-card details or identity documents through an ordinary enquiry form. Share another person’s details only when you have authority and they have been appropriately informed.

3. Why we use it and whether you must provide it

We use relevant information to respond, route enquiries, assess project or material requirements, prepare quotations, organise appointments, communicate about agreed work, maintain customer records and address complaints. We also use information where necessary for website security, record-keeping and legal obligations. Enquiry records may be organised by customer type, solution interest and enquiry stage to help us follow up appropriately.

Providing information is generally voluntary. Required form fields are identified when you submit a request. Without enough contact, site or project information, we may be unable to respond, arrange a site visit or provide a meaningful quotation. We do not treat an enquiry as consent to unrelated marketing.

4. Information from other sources

Where the Privacy Act permits, a property owner, authorised representative, supplier or project partner may give us information relevant to your request. We consider whether collection from that source is permitted and, when required by Information Privacy Principle 3A, take reasonable steps to notify you as soon as reasonably practicable about the collection, purpose, intended recipients, collecting and holding agency, any relevant legal authority, and your access and correction rights. This general policy does not replace a specific notice where one is required.

5. Website technology and cookies

Our website and service providers may process technical information such as IP addresses, browser details, requested pages and security or error logs to operate and protect the site. Cookies or similar storage may support sessions, security and preferences. You can manage cookies in your browser; restricting them can affect requested features.

Links or embedded services, such as external maps, videos or the Shop, can involve separate providers and privacy terms. Review those terms before using the service. Any additional analytics, advertising or other optional tracking will require appropriate notice and choices where applicable.

6. Who receives information

Relevant information is available to authorised ONZKO personnel and providers supporting website hosting, forms, customer records, booking, email, security and backups. Where necessary for your requested quote or work, it may also be shared with the relevant supplier, contractor or delivery partner. We limit sharing to the purpose and what is reasonably needed. We do not sell or rent personal information.

We may also disclose information with your authority or where permitted or required by law, including to professional advisers or authorities. Providers acting on our instructions must use information for the service they provide and protect it appropriately.

7. Overseas processing

Technology providers may process or store information outside New Zealand. Where a provider acts solely as our agent, ONZKO remains responsible for information held on our behalf. Where an overseas transfer is a disclosure covered by Information Privacy Principle 12, we must use a permitted basis, such as comparable safeguards or appropriate contractual protections. If informed authorisation is required, we will seek it specifically; use of this website is not blanket authorisation.

8. Communications, security and retention

We may send service messages to respond to your enquiry or manage an appointment or agreed work. Marketing communications require the applicable consent or lawful basis and an unsubscribe method. You can contact [email protected] to change your marketing preferences. Necessary service communications may continue.

We take reasonable steps to protect information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. No online system is completely secure. We keep information only for a lawful purpose and for as long as it is reasonably needed or legally required, including relevant accounting, contract, complaint and dispute records. When it is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete, anonymise or securely dispose of it.

If a privacy breach causes or is likely to cause serious harm, we will assess and make the notifications required by the Privacy Act.

9. Access, correction and complaints

You can ask whether we hold personal information about you, request access and ask for correction. If we do not make a requested correction, you may ask us to attach a statement of correction. We may need to verify your identity or authority before releasing information. We will respond within the time required by the Privacy Act and explain any lawful extension or refusal.

Please contact our Privacy Officer first with a question or complaint. If you remain concerned, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. You may also request deletion, but records may need to be retained for a lawful reason.

Calculator estimates and requested reports

On-screen calculator results can be viewed without providing contact details. If you request a PDF estimate, we store your submitted contact details, calculator inputs and estimate in our website form records and use our customer-management system to organise the request by tool and interest. We email the requested report and provide a download link that expires after one hour. Project follow-up and marketing are separate choices; requesting a report does not subscribe you to marketing.
